New Giga-VitesseCFS forage wagons by Strautmann

On the occasion of this year's Agritechnica, Strautmann is presenting the new generation of the Giga-VitesseCFS models. Apart from the well-known advantages such as the CFS conveying unit, this forage wagon convinces also by new features such as a new rotor design and an extremely wide pick-up.

The Strautmann Giga-VitesseCFS has proven its worth as a robust forage wagon offering excellent charging performance for larger dairy farms and contractors for years. To meet the increased demands in terms of efficiency and wider swathes, Strautmann is presenting the revised models Giga-VitesseCFS 3602, 4002 and 4402 with a capacity of 32 up to 42 m³ on the occasion of the Agritechnica.

In this new model range, the conveying unit has been completely revised. The camless pick-up with 6 V-shaped tine rows is equipped with plastic strippers preventing early tine wear and improving smooth running. The pick-up width was increased to 2.25 m according to DIN, in order to be able to pick up even the widest swathes without any problems. The guide wheels do not have to be retracted, but can remain in position during road travel. Furthermore, the height adjustment of the guide wheels has been made easier, such that the operating height of the pick-up can be quickly adapted.

The proven CFS roller, which ensures optimum material flow and is a special feature of the Strautmann forage wagons, works behind the pick-up. With 8 helical tine rows, the newly developed integral rotor conveys the material into the cargo space across a width of 1600 mm. Additional 6 mm thick auger windings of 250 mm in width are integrated into the rotor on each side. They reliably convey the material from the wide pick-up inwards to the rotor tines. Thus, the integral rotor reaches an enormous overall width of 2100 mm.

The rotor drive has also been newly developed. On the right-hand side, an oil-bath gearbox transmits the tractor power to a planetary gear set integrated in the rotor. Thus, the speed is only reduced directly in front of the rotor, which prevents high torques in the power train.

The cutting unit with 44 turnable Double-Cut knives reliably protected against foreign objects by the unique knife protection system with spot-on triggering, has a theoretical cutting length of 35 mm. In combination with the 17 mm wide Hardox tine plates of the integral rotor, perfect cutting quality is achieved.

The Giga-VitesseCFS of the 02 series is available with diverse chassis options. Apart from a simple boogie tandem assembly, hydraulic chassis options are at hand for optimum driving comfort. All chassis are equipped with a standard positive steering axle; an electronic forced steering axle can be mounted as an optional extra.

As standard equipment, the well-known Field Operator 120 control terminal serves to operate the machine. The Field Operator 130, which makes operation easier due to its coloured display and a folding drawbar automatic system, is available as an optional extra. Both operating options are ISOBUS compatible, such that the forage wagon can also be operated via the tractor terminal or a universal ISOBUS display.
