A combined control and transfer gearbox with 2 speeds assures the transmission over 2 pto shafts to the augers. Therefore, the gearboxes are used equally.

Chopping and mixing

Two mixing augers equipped with sickle-shaped knives guarantee a fast and exact mixing of all fodder components. Even round or square bales are chopped and mixed in by the knives in no time. An additional clearing device fixed opposite the auger entry ensures a consistent metering.
„Vario“ - mixing auger for optimum feeding

The mixing auger and the container are perfectly matched to produce every fodder mix fast, precisely and with low power requirement. The round form of the container supports a fast mixing and at the same time keeps the wear as low as possible. The heart of every fodder mixing wagon is the mixing auger.

The "vario" mixing auger developed by Strautmann has adjustable knives and assures a fast and homogeneous mixing of all fodder components. Because the knives are positioned in inwards direction, the power requirement decreases and a fuel saving of up to 25% can be realized. An additional scraper at the bottom of the mixing auger assures a fast and even unloading of the mixed fodder. Different types of cutting knives for a variety of operational conditions are available as option.
Counter knives

The mixing wagons are equipped with two manual counter knives that simplify the cutting of round and cubic bales.

As an option the counter knives can also be operated hydraulically from the driver seat. (not for VM 400/500)
Mineral feed funnel
If required a mineral feed funnel can be mounted to the container. This makes it easier to fill of smaller quantities of concerntrates like minerals or lime.
Over flow ring

For the handling of round and square bales an overflow ring is recommended. The ring avoids fodder being pushed out of the container while bales are chopped.
Optionally an internal (no increase of the height of the wagon) or an external ring (height of the wagon increases by 150 mm) can be mounted. Extensions for the container with a height of 150 mm are also available.
